Being Careful

Clement Grenier would probably be a good signing. If he's highly rated by Lyon, there obviously is some talent to the guy. Lyon have a track record of bringing through talented players, so if he is being hyped it is probably for good reason. At the same time though, it is worth bearing in mind two things: Lyon have a track record of getting extortionate prices for their players, so it would be important to get him before he signs a pro contract; also, just because he's coveted by lots of clubs doesn't mean he's going to be a world beater. I'm a Senderos fan, but considering we beat off competition from a host of European clubs to sign him from Servette he's not that good. Nonetheless, definitely something to watch.

According to The Sun today Manure are interested in signing Wilson Palacios from Wigan. I don't think it would be unreasonable to say that considering Wenger tipped Bruce off about him, we should have first refusal if he's being sold. However, the Mancunians are mercenaries and will do everything they can to get their own way. Having watched MOTD, he seems like the type of player who would fit in at Arsenal, especially with his creativity, which could help this team.

Wrighty has quit as a BBC pundit. If you read the article it comes across as very much six of one, and half a dozen of the other. Wrighty didn't want to tone down his behaviour, but he looked a tad silly next to them. Having said that, although they are not as loud and ostentatious as Wrighty, Hansen, Lawro and Shearer also have their biases, so I felt it was much of a muchness. I always found it amusing on England games where regardless what was happening "Shaun should be on". To be honest though, I'm not going to criticise him because he's an Arsenal legend.

Here's hoping Chelsea lose - we can still come second which eliminates the minefield which is Champions League qualifiers - sure, their relatively easy but Ajax lost this season.
